"There is NO higher calling in life than raising the children God has entrusted to our care." This blogspot chronicles the life and times of my amazing family, my relationship with Jesus Christ, and adoption advocacy, which is my passion.

So what's up with my CHICKENS?!
Ok, I am ranting now. Every day this week, I have gone out to do barn chores, only to discover that I had lost one (or two) of my beloved hens overnight. They are fine when I feed in the eve, they are dead when I go out in the morning. They are not appearing sick, until a few hours before they die! I cannot figure this out, and slowly my flock of 85 is dwindling. Anyone have a suggestion? They are sure not laying much either...........maybe they have a parasite??? Praying for healing for my hens! :)

Welcome!
Hello and Blessings! Welcome to this crazy blog about the crazy antics of my crazy family! Crazy we are, crazy because of the fun we have, the things we do, and the way we love.
So what's on my mind today? Well, lots of praise to my Lord Jesus for gradually healing MengYan, my newest little treasure from China. Nothing but good news from her hematologist today. Lots of praise to the Lord for our home addition being SO close to being done! This has been a year long, totally "do-it-yourself" project which has been fun, stressful, educational, and tedious, all at the same time! Praise to the Lord for moving His hand in Mary's adoption process, and for making the impossible, possible! And mostly I am excited, and praising, and nervous, and stressed (ok, just a little), over our first family marriage! Yes, that's right, even though I am not old enough to have a married child, on Dec. 12, I will have!!!!! Brogan is marrying her true love, Zachary, and will be joining him in Germany, as he serves our country as a MP. I could not have chosen a better man to marry my daughter, as I love Zachary very much. Always have! I cannot wait to sit back and watch their new life together! It is SO exciting! And I am SO pleased to let the world know that both B & Z chose a pre-marital stance of abstinence, and did not even share their first kiss until their engagement.
I know God will bless their marriage, as He surely knows how hard it is to remain pure in this clouded world. I love you B & Z! You two will be the first picture posted to this blog! Thank you Lord Jesus, for the blessings of love!
